Sara joined the Global Institute for Food Security (GIFS) as a Laboratory Technician in 2021. She works in the Omics and Precision Analytics Laboratory (OPAL) where she is involved with molecular workflows and genome sequencing. Prior to GIFS, Sara worked as a Research Technician in the Cancer Research Cluster Laboratory at the University of Saskatchewan (USASK). She was involved in tissue culture work, cell-based assays, and other duties including maintenance and supply control. Prior to her time at the Cancer Research Cluster, Sara worked in various places at the USASK campus: including working as a Summer Research Assistant in the Drug Discovery and Development Research Group, Student Instructor in the Science Outreach Program, and Library Assistant in the Science and Engineering Libraries. Sara completed a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology degree at the USASK.
