Sara joined the Global Institute for Food Security (GIFS) as a Genomic Laboratory Technician in 2021. She works in the Omics and Precision Agriculture Laboratory (OPAL) where she is involved with molecular workflows and genome sequencing. Prior to GIFS, Sara worked as a Research Technician in the Cancer Research Cluster Laboratory at the University of Saskatchewan (USASK). She was involved in tissue culture work, cell-based assays, and other duties including maintenance and supply control. Prior to her time at the Cancer Research Cluster, Sara worked in various places at the USASK campus: including working as a Summer Research Assistant in the Drug Discovery and Development Research Group, Student Instructor in the Science Outreach Program, and Library Assistant in the Science and Engineering Libraries. Sara completed a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology degree at the USASK.
