The Institute Where Careers are Built
Our success in addressing the global food security challenge rests on our ability to work with the best and brightest, most ingenious and innovative researchers here at the University of Saskatchewan from diverse backgrounds and all corners of the globe. Our researchers will work together in a culture of collaboration to make scientific discoveries in agriculture that are relevant to the world.
GIFS’ researchers will engage in discovery science inspired by the grand challenges implicit to food security. They will seek out pathways to impact through industrial collaborations or translational work directed towards the needs of developing countries.
Our graduate students and post-doctoral fellows will integrate into these programs so they emerge as productive young scientists with strategic instincts, preparing them for leadership in their future careers.
