Shawn Jaques brings more than three decades of leadership experience in Saskatchewan’s agriculture and water sectors to his role as Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
Shawn served as President and CEO of the Water Security Agency (WSA) from November 2020 to June 2026. He led the organization through a period of transition, maintaining a focus on sustainable water management, strong client service and effective partnerships.
Prior to WSA, Shawn spent nearly 29 years with the Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC) where he held roles including part-time Adjuster, Customer Service Representative, Manager of Customer Service and Executive Manager of Field Operations. He served as President and CEO from 2010 to 2020.
Shawn has owned and operated a small mixed farm in the Preeceville area for the past 30 years. This hands-on experience has shaped his perspective and strengthened his understanding of the realities faced by Saskatchewan farmers and ranchers, and the importance of responsive, effective government programs.
