Megha holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from University of Alberta and MSc from MS University, India. Before joining GIFS, Megha worked at Innovate Calgary, the technology transfer office and business incubator of the University of Calgary helping build intellectual property strategy and commercialization of new technologies. She has extensive experience setting up productive collaborations with multiple stakeholders, negotiating legal and financial terms in revenue bearing agreements, market assessment of new technologies, industry outreach, and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders. She worked in a similar role at University of Alberta’s technology transfer office (then, TEC Edmonton) helping researchers commercialize their inventions through licensing, research collaborations, and start-up company formation. Prior to moving to Canada, Megha worked at Intas Biopharmaceuticals Ltd., India as a Research Executive carrying out process improvement studies and testing biopharmaceuticals for Cancer, Nephrology, and Hematology.
Outside of work, Megha enjoys travelling, hiking, gardening, painting, and spending time with her son and husband.
