Dr. Hanh Thi Nguyen
Research Technician, Root-Soil-Microbial-Interactions
Hanh Nguyen was born in Ninh Binh, Vietnam. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in biology from Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She then came to the US and worked as a laboratory manager and technician in Dr. Anthony Hay’s laboratory at the Department of Microbiology, Cornell University. After that, she joined the Soil and Water Sciences Department, University of Florida as a research fellow and started her PhD program at the same department.
She received her PhD from the University of Florida, studied the microbial ecology and nutrient cycles of the Everglades constructed wetlands in South Florida. Hanh joined Dr Leon Kochian’s laboratory at GIFS in October 2020, provides molecular biology experience to the research group.
